OnePlus One - 64 GB Model Price Slashed By Rs.2001 - EXCLUSIVE

Popular Chinese smartphone maker OnePlus is pretty much known for its unique price cuts in the past. We all know that OnePlus had recently celebrated its anniversary with a Re 1 discount on its flagship One's actual price.

Now, the company seems to have employed a similar strategy to tackle its competitor Xiaomi Mi 4 64 GB's new cut down price. The new price of the OnePlus One 64 GB at which the smartphone will be sold on Amazon India on June 18 is Rs 19,998 which is Rs 2,001 less than the actual price.

The uniqueness about this price slash down is that it is Re 1 less than the Xiaomi Mi 4 64 GB. While Xiaomi has slashed the price of its Mi 4 64 GB premanently, the OnePlus One's price cut seems not to be a permanent move.

However, it is worth noting that the OnePlus One flagship maker has recently announced a permanent $50 price cut in the international market, especially in UK and EU.

Visit Amazon.in

To recap, the OnePlus One flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD display, and is powered by a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor paired with Adreno 330 GPU and 3 GB of RAM. It offers 16 GB and 64 GB internal storage, but no microSD card to expand it.

The flagship also features 13 MP rear camera, 5 MP front-facing camera, 3,100 mAh battery, and connectivity options like LTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. On the software front, it runs on Cyanogen OS 12 or Oxygen OS.

However, we do not know whether which company among OnePlus and Xiaomi is benefiting the most with these price cuts, but, we are pretty sure that the customers are the ones who are actually taking advantage of these moves.

Google Play Launches ‘Free App of the Week’

Google Play Launches ‘Free App of the Week’

Google Play along with the launch of various other applications and updates has now started a new section as the host of its first ‘Free App of the Week’ promotion. Google Play isn’t the first one to offer such a promotion though a good response is expected. Similar offers have always been given by Apple’s App Store and Amazon’s App-store for the Android version.
google_play_family_free_app_of_the_week
After the launch of its Family section last week, the first Free App of the Week is ‘Daniel Tiger Grr-ific Feelings’ by PBS Kids. It’s actual cost is Rs 190.28 i.e $2.99. The application is highlighted for free in the (new) Family section both on the Google Play app as well as the Web interface. If users try to directly search on the store via the application or the Web it will be directed to the full-price listing.
It’s the first time Google will be allowing developers to price an application for free for a limited time. Till date, once an application is made for free, developers cannot make it a paid app again. They are only allowed to do it if they remove the listing and republished it again.
Currently the media is calling the Free Application Of The Week as a part of Google Play Content Promotion. It is typically meant for the third party publishers along with entailing the use of promotional codes. Though the code and its input mechanism is invisible in the case of ‘Daniel Tiger Grr-ific Feelings’. The services have the condition that such promotional codes cannot be transferred to other users. It cannot be exchanged for cash and neither has any cash value.
For now, Google has not given out any details about about this update. It hasn’t revealed if the “Free App of the Week” will be a part of Google Play’s section.
Though in the meanwhile, Google has already started posting the user feedback surveys in the Google Play application. This was reported by a Reddit user. The Google Reward Opinions however doesn’t pay users in form of Google Play credit for answering the survey. The survey is there simply to know how satisfied the user was with the Google Play Store’s search results.

Best Mobile Phones Under 15000 Rs Available In India Today

Best Mobile Phones Under 15000 Rs Available In India Today

After the entry of Motorola in India last year, prices of phones haven’t been the same. Earlier we used to have many homegrown brands such as Micromax, Karbonn, Spice etc. which offered value for money phones but then most of these phones had average build quality and the after sales services were really poor. Also, when an international brand like Motorola was offering a phone for such reasonable cost, why wouldn’t it be people’s first choice. Seeing the success of Motorola in India, other companies such as Asus, Gionee, Huawei started targeting India as a potential market to sell their phones. This has made the sub Rs. 15000 price range very competitive. So which are the best phones under 15000 Rs.? Let’s find out.

List of Phones under 15000 Rs

Moto G (2nd gen)

Price – Rs. 12,999
Last year, the Moto G became the highest selling Moto phone ever. The phone didn’t have the best of specifications but had very good value for money package. As compared to its predecessor, this phone has a bigger screen (5 inch) and also has a microSD card slot. The camera is bumped up too. Moto is very swift in providing software updates as the phone primarily runs on stock Android. In fact, many Moto G (1st gen) phones in India have started receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop update. All-in-all, this makes it the best value for money phone to buy under Rs.15,000.

Micromax Canvas Nitro (A311)

Price – Rs. 11,800
micromax-canvas-nitro-a310
The Micromax Canvas Nitro is one of the better offerings from the company. The phone has a 5 inch IPS display boasting a resolution of 1280×720 pixels which takes the pixel density to a decent 293 PPI. If you fancy a full HD display, then we reckon to get the Micromax Canvas Knight A350 which costs around 2000 rupees more. It runs on a 1.7GHz Octa Core processor and is packed with 2GB of RAM. The rear camera has a 13 Megapixel sensor and it also has a front facing 5 Megapixel camera. The A311 comes with 16GB of internal storage, but there is also the A310 which is an 8GB variant. Overall, it’s a good package from Micromax, offering better battery life.

alcatel-idol-xplus

It runs on a 2GHz Octa-Core processor and has 2GB of RAM. The phone has a 13MP rear which does HD video recording and also a 2MP front camera. The 16GB of internal storage can be expanded up to 32GB by using a microSD card. The battery of 2500mAh is decent and should easily last a day. If you’re purely looking for a beast, give this one shot.

Price – Rs. 14,200
samsung-galaxy-grand-prime
Samsung phones sell in huge numbers in the Indian market. The company’s latest offering was made with the intention to target selfie phones. The battery is 2600mAh unit which should you last longer than a day. What we dislike of this phone is the display! For a 5 inch display, it has a below average 960×540 resolution and  220 PPI. Buy this only if you’re looking for a Samsung phone within a budget.

Micromax Canvas Gold A300

Price – Rs. 15,000
CanvasGold

Micromax Canvas Hue 2 Spotted Online

Micromax Canvas Hue 2 Spotted Online At A Price Tag Of Rs. 12,499/-

Seems like Micromax has planned to launch its next Canvas smartphone the Canvas Hue 2, quietly. Without any official announcement from the company, the Canvas Hue 2 is listed online at a price of Rs 12,499. Just like its forerunner the Canvas Hue which was launched earlier this year, in January, this device too opts for a 5-inch AMOLED display bearing HD resolution.
Mahesh telecom, a Mumbai-based retailer has also revealed the specifications and price of the new Canvas Hue 2. It is likely to be available in offline stores in India. The Hue 2 will be priced at an MOP of Rs 12,499, while the MRP is Rs 17,999, as told by the retailer.

Canvas Hue 2

The Canvas Hue 2 (model number – A316) is a dual-SIM smartphone which operates on  Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box. The handset has a resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels. It is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core MediaTek (MT6582) processor along with 2GB of RAM. However, the retailer lists a 1.7GHz octa-core processor.
The handset is expected to have an onboard storage of 16 GB that is further expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera blessed with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. In terms of connectivity, it includes 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB and Bluetooth. A battery of 2000mAh completes the package.
Micromax boasts that the new Canvas Hue 2 has a thickness of mere 7mm. Another feature worth talking is the 5MP front-facing camera which will definitely be appreciated by the selfie lovers. Micromax has bought a major upgrade to the phone in terms of camera, the addition of LED flash with rear camera is the icing on cake.
Hue 2 only lags behind in the operating system department. Unfortunately the device runs on not-so-latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS, and there’s no word on whether or not it’s eligible for a Lollipop upgrade in the future. Other than the OS, the new Hue 2 seems like a fair deal.

Xiaomi's Latest Toy Is the Rs. 199 Mi LED Light

Xiaomi's Latest Toy Is the Rs. 199 Mi LED Light

by 15 June 2015
China's Xiaomi has launched its latest toy in India. The Xiaomi Mi LED Light is now available for purchase from the company's online store at Rs. 199 in blue and white colours.

Xiaomi Mi LED Light looks very similar to the cheap USB lights available via eBay and other websites, though the colours do give it a little bit of more appeal than its no-name brethern. The light has a flexible frame and is powered by a standard USB port, which means you can plug it into any USB charger, your computers's USB port, or indeed any power bank with a USB port. Do remember that Mi.com offers free shipping only on orders above Rs. 500, so you'll need to pay a Rs. 50 delivery charge if you are thinking of picking up just a single piece of the Xiaomi Mi LED Light for yourself.

With the move, Xiaomi has expanded the lineup of accessories that it sells in India. Prospective customers can now buy straps for the Mi Band in various colours as well as cases for various Xiaomi smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi 2, Xiaomi Mi 4i, andXiaomi Mi 4 from Mi.com, in addition to other products like the Xiaomi Mi Band and the Xiaomi Mi Power Bank. The power bank is available in three different capacities - 5000mAh, 10400mAh, and 16000mAh, priced between Rs. 699 and Rs. 1,399.
The company of course continues to sell smartphones and a tablet via e-commerce partners like Flipkart, Snapdeal, and Amazon.
